Musicians and Volcalists

Musicians

Trigger points affect musicians...often!!

Common complaints I hear from musicians:

Sore back, sore shoulder(s), headache, vertigo, carpal tunnel syndrome, sore hands, numbness in limbs / hands, frozen shoulder, knee pain and foot pain.

These are only some of the potential problems that may be caused by myofascial trigger points.

Musicians will (and do) spend long periods of time practising their instrument.

However, when your arms are extended in front of you there is considerable strain on back and shoulder muscles...more than you might expect! This taxing of muscle will very likely produce trigger points. These trigger points will refer pain, tingling, weakness or numbness, to areas you may not expect.

I've heard of musicians having to give-up their playing because of chronic pain problems. I know that trigger points could be causing the majority of these issues.

I also know that they can for the most part be quickly and successfully treated.

If you are having pain issues and nothing seems to be helping, please contact me. Perhaps trigger points are at the source.

Vocalists (return to top)

 Trigger points commonly affect vocalists.

Vocalists could suffer from breath issues, throat issues, headaches, heartburn, and diminishing vocal range.  Not to mention a whole bunch of what you might think are totally unrelated issues such as vertigo, tinnitus, and toothache! And yes, these could all have trigger point roots!

Remember... you are taxing many muscles; from your abdomen, up to the top of your head.
